We are well and truly living in stressful and tension-filled times. Whether it is the job we are into or the small businesses we are running, it is uncertainty if there is one common thing.
This leads to a buildup of tension and leads to various health challenges impacting the body and the mind. This could reduce productivity all around and lead to discord in family life and at the workplace.
Over the next few lines, we will try and look at a few useful but highly effective mind relaxing techniques that will have the desired impact within a few minutes.
7 Ways To Relax The Mind:
1). The Magic Of Green Tea:
Anger is one of the biggest reasons for stress, and drinking a cup of green tea can help. It is a rich L-Theanine source, a chemical that is proven to calm the nerves and control anger.
If it made a daily habit, it certainly could be a game-changer and mind relaxing is concerned. All that is needed is to boil water, put some green tea leaves, boil it, and drink it. Adding sugar is at best avoided.
2). Chewing Gum Could Help:
A stick of gum, which is fruity, minty, could be a great way to relieve stress, and it has been proven time and again. Though it might be difficult to believe, it works very well by reducing cortisol levels in the body, contributing to stress and anger.
I’ve noticed that it starts to hurt when chewing gum after a while, so I’ll stop. But it really does make a difference to help you relax for some reason, and another bonus is it suppresses your appetite, so if you’re trying to lose weight, that’s just a little tip for you.
3). Honey A Natural Stress Reliever:
Honey is one of the most effective ways and means to fight many health conditions. Replacing stress with sweetness could be a great way out.
It is a natural antibiotic and also is known to contain anti-inflammatory properties. When a person is stressed and angry, the brain cells suffer from inflammation.
Hence, taking a few spoonfuls of honey mixed with lukewarm water can be extremely useful and calmer the brain cells and significantly bring down temper levels.
There are quite a few different kinds of honey out there. I would recommend trying all of them because some are not the greatest, but they all basically have the same effect of calming you. I take honey at night before I go to bed because it helps me calm down and slow down my thoughts.
4). The Importance Of Meditation:
Apart from some common food habits, meditation is considered one of the best ways to overcome anger, frustration, and tension.
You need not climb mountains and sit on snow-clad mountain peaks and then meditate. If you have a garden or backyard, that is the best thing you can expect for meditation.
Even if you do not have it, there is no problem. You could do it in your bedroom or living room. All that is required is the will to do it and the mindset. You need not spend hours at length.
Even meditating for five to ten minutes will give that much-needed calming effect, which in turn will lead to a reduction of stress and anger. Meditation is so much fun to do when you get in the habit of doing it.
It’s a lot of work to start getting in the habit of doing it at first, but when you start doing it over and over and over again, you actually begin to look forward to it, and it becomes easier to do.
You will naturally find yourself doing it for more than 5 to 10 minutes at a time. And the whole point of it is to make you feel good and happy and very calm.
And if you’re feeling happy and calm, you’re going to attract back to you things of that vibration that will make you continue to feel like that. And wouldn’t you love to feel like that all the time?
5). Hit The Bed:
If you are in the midst of emotional upheaval and find that your tempers are getting out of control, you must try some ways and means to beat it naturally.
Wash your face with water if possible, wipe dry and hit the bed, and sleep even if it for 30 minutes. It will help a lot in calming the adrenaline rush and bring down stress levels.
It is time tested and proven. Trauma associated with tragic events can also be controlled with sleep, and hence overcoming anger and de-stressing the mind is very much possible.
6). Take Some Deep Breaths:
One of the best ways to relax is to sit down, take some deep breaths. It can help reduce blood pressure and bring down the heart rates, which could be throbbing because of an adrenaline rush.
Pranayama is a yogic method that could work even better. It is about breathing in through one nostril and exhaling through the other. It would be best if you did the inhaling and exhaling exercises in both the nostrils. I really love learning to take deep breathes with my Apple Watch.
Just having a reminder set on throughout the day helps me check in with myself and make sure that I’m staying relaxed, calm, and at peace with the world and myself.
As I take deep breaths, I’ve noticed that I actually perform better in the tasks that I’m doing. I feel more alive, but at the same time, I begin to feel more productive and more enthusiastic, but with calm to it, it’s very subtle.
7). The Magic Of Creative Visualization:
Finally, you must understand creative visualization in handling stress, and it must have been experienced to be believed. Thinking about those wonderful dreams and desires that are close to your heart is, without any doubt, one of the best ways to beat stress and calm the mind.
The entire visualization process could be on for a few minutes, but that is fine. It will have the desired impact and calms nerves and could also bring down blood pressure levels.
When you really get involved in this daydreaming, you will, especially if it’s for like a massive goal. You will begin to feel better immediately.
I usually like to visualize myself on the beach and dark clouds above me with a slight wind going. And then just being in that picture and really taking it in, I find myself feeling more and more relaxed and calm and at peace.
I honestly feel that visualization with breathing slowly is probably the most effective way to calm your mind and make you feel happy. But that really can’t be different for many people; it just works really well for me.
Learning to relax your mind by applying the seven tips above will change the way you feel on a day-to-day basis. It would be best if you always learned to control yourself by being relaxed.
If you do that, you will learn to respond to things instead of reacting to them and get all emotionally stirred up. Many successful people have actually mastered this trade and are a big factor in them being successful.
The mind and learning how to control it is probably your greatest goal you can move towards in life because it leads to everything else.
If you’re calm and relaxed on the inside, then that will reflect on the outside. Always try to live with them instead of letting everything on the outside of your World dictate how you think and feel.
This will take some serious practice, but the results you will receive to pay the price will be more than well worth it. Imagine when someone is yelling at you, and it does not affect you.
Imagine you being in a car accident, and you’re able to be still calmer than normal people would. That is what I mean by controlling your mind and living from within.
It’s really allowing yourself not to let things get to you and live in the moment now. I think many of our stresses in life are due to us thinking about the possible negative things in the future.
Or all the negative things that of happened in the past, and we naturally feel more irritated and annoyed by default because we’re in the habit of thinking like that.
So do the best you can and learn to think from within, and if things aren’t going the way you want, that’s OK, stay calm, stay relaxed, and continue pressing forward living from within. By the lava universe, if you remain calm on the inside, no matter what is going on on the outside, all of the stuff on the outside must become calm in your life.
That’s just the way that it works. Learn to master yourself, learn to really slow down your thoughts, and become one with your higher self, your spiritual self, the infinite you.
