Foods To Eat To Lose Belly Fat

Losing belly fat is one of the hardest things to do. Exercising and frequent visits to the gym may provide beautiful positive results but in most cases, the belly is always the last to lose that extra fat.

Some people accompany gym exercises with slimming belts that do not offer much comfort when exercising. The exercises might do the job finally but it takes a lot of patience and many gym visits to get to where you want.

What many people do not know is that there are foods that can help you to lose that belly fat. If you follow the diets properly as stipulated coupled with occasional exercises, then you will have your belly fat within no time. Below are 10 foods that can help you get rid of your belly fat fast.

10 Foods To Eat To Lose Belly Fat Fast

Oatmeal For Breakfast:

Many people assume that skipping breakfast is one of the surest ways of losing belly fat or losing weight. On the contrary, a well-balanced breakfast is good for you. (I skip it, but that’s just me.)

One of the meals to take for breakfast that can help you to lose belly fat is oatmeal. Oatmeal is very rich in fiber, which keeps you filled for most of the day.

With a rich bowl of oatmeal, there is a chance that you will not nibble on other foods until your next meal. Do not sweeten your oatmeal with any sugars but take it plain. If you need to sweeten it up, try using natural sugars like honey.

Caffeine: (Personal Favorite)

Many people consider coffee unhealthy. They take it to stay awake and to help them to focus. What you did not know is that coffee is also a very healthy diet and it has antioxidants that help the body to burn extra fat.

Besides helping you with weight loss, coffee also boosts the body’s metabolism. So if you are looking for ways to burn up that fat, take about 600mg of coffee daily and see your belly slowly shrinking to a size you will be proud to show off.

Coconut Oil:

Some people tend to stay away from coconut oil because they think it contains saturated fats. Yes, coconut oil does have fats.

The fats in the oil are not like the other oils you find in certain other foods. These contain fatty acids that leave you full that you eat less during the day. This means that you consume fewer calories, which in turn helps you to lose weight.

Coconut oil also acts upon any fat building up around the belly and other parts of the body. If you are looking for a healthy appetite suppressant and a fat burning diet, then coconut oil will do you good.

Fish:

Fish is very rich in protein and protein is one of the ultimate diets to take when you want to lose weight. Protein helps to suppress late-night appetite and boosts the body’s metabolism.

Eating fish will not only help you to lose that extra belly fat, but it will also leave you healthy. Other kinds of protein that you can take in place of fish are lean meats and liquid protein shakes.

Low Carb Diet-Boiled Potatoes:

Potatoes we all know are carbs. Carbs make people fat. However, the kinds of potatoes that will make you gain weight are fried potatoes, fries, and chips.

Boiled potatoes, on the other hand, have very low carb concentration and only leave you feeling full so you avoid eating more calories before the next meal.

If you are looking for the perfect appetite suppressant, then boiled potatoes should be Top of your list. No other better way to fight off that belly fat than by staying away from extra calories during the day

Nuts-Almonds:

Nuts are a good source of energy but the majority of them have saturated fats that can make you gain weight. Almonds, on the other hand, contain monounsaturated fats that are good for weight loss and burning belly fat.

They also contain fiber and protein and help to curb unnecessary food cravings. If you are not keen on taking almonds on their own, you can blend them with a few fruits like banana, or peanut butter to make a deliciously healthy shake.

ACV-Apple Cider Vinegar:

One of the most popular foods used in homes and eateries is ACV. This is because ACV has immense health benefits. One of those benefits is weight loss.

After a heavy carb diet, taking ACV helps you to stay full for the rest of the day, therefore, making it less likely for you to eat any more calories in between meals. It also helps to burn up extra belly fat and boosts the body’s mechanism.

Foods To Eat To Lose Belly Fat

Pepper:

Hot Pepper is one of the most powerful belly fat burning food. It contains a special ingredient that burns up the fat in the body and at the same time suppresses appetite while boosting the body’s metabolism.

Fresh Milk:

Did you know that fresh cow milk could help you lose belly fat? Fresh cow milk contains calcium, which helps to fight belly fat. It has absolutely no preservatives and besides fighting weight gain, it has many other health benefits.

Greens:

Vegetables are very important for health. They are high in fiber and they help to detoxify the body. They also help in keeping your body lean as they contain no fats and no carbs.

If you are looking for the best way to lose that belly fat with some leafy greens, mix them with a bit of lemon juice and you are good to go. Salad dressings are also condiments that go well with your vegetables to help you fight weight gain.

Bonus Step: ( Calorie Counter App)

I wanted to throw this in here as well because this is what has made a huge difference for me in regards to losing weight and has made it still enjoyable without having to make all the crazy sacrifices that come with trying to lose weight.

It’s not rocket science but it does require self-control and a strong DESIRE to want to do it. I’m sure you have heard of it before, but it does work and it’s simple. There is a lot of stuff out there that claim there are “Secrets” and such and it’s just a bunch of nonsense.

Are you ready for it? Ok, here it goes. Count your damn calories every day using an app. There are plenty of ones out there that are free. Just type in Calorie Counter on your phone and pick one. For me, since I’m a male and want to get to a specific weight, by a specific time, I can only consume 1,580 calories a day.

But the fun part is, you can eat whatever the hell you want, but you need to be more mindful of what your eating because some foods are very high in calories like sweets for example, which is my favorite along with every other person in the world lol.

Foods To Eat To Lose Belly Fat

Going this route has caused me to be more mindful of what times I’m eating and how many times a day. For me, I actually will usually skip breakfast because I only eat between 12 to 8 pm. Intermediate fasting is what I do, and it works well for me.

What I have noticed is I feel so much better, my self-discipline is up because I’m logging my food every day, and the best part is it allows me to see how much weight I am loosing AND how many carbs I’m eating, etc.

I actually for a week, did this without being mindful of what I was eating, just to see how bad my calorie intake was………good lord, it was like 4,000 calories a day. You’re going to put on weight doing that every day if you don’t burn it off working out.

So after seeing that I decided to keep track and it changed everything for me. I still have sweets, and I don’t eat as much, and I eat how I want still, but in fewer quantities and don’t have to do all this special shit that people recommend.

My favorite saying is to keep it simple silly, and that’s how I like to live my life, by keeping everything simple and not so complicated. I hope this massive tip is helpful to you, as it has been to me. It takes some getting used to ( 2 weeks), but you will get used to it and will do it automatically after a while.

You will feel like your cheating on your app if you don’t do it. Like its calling your name or something. I felt like that when I did not log a meal. We have a great connection though, so it’s all good lol.

Conclusion:

There is nothing as important as good health and losing belly fat is one way of staying healthy. The above foods and many others will help you with the fight to acquire a flatter belly.

Make sure to avoid foods that are very rich in carbohydrates and those that contain sugar and corn syrup if you want to lose your belly fat. It might not be easy, to begin with, but with patience, determination, and sticking to the right diets, there is no reason you should not expect positive results.

What has worked well for you in regards to losing weight? What foods are you eating that you love and you don’t consider a big sacrifice?

  1. Hi, Alex,

Thank you for this great reminder of what to eat to shake off those unwanted cms.

All my conscious life, I’ve been adherent to having breakfast, and the oatmeal is still my favorite.

But despite the common belief that it keeps you full, it seems like it acts differently for me, in 2-3 hours, I’m hungry again 🙂

I have never counted my calories because I thought it’s too complicated but with your advice, I think I should give it a try.

    • Hi Natalie,

You are so welcome. It’s so simple to do, yet most people are not able to lol. It all comes down to DESIRE and how badly do you want to do it! You will love it if you count the calories, it makes such a big difference. Just try it without worrying about what you eat, and see what your habits are like. It’s kinda fun to see because it wakes you up in a way to the realization that you need to eat right.

      Cheers,

  3. Hi Alex,
Great article, thank you! And I’m happy to say that I love all these foods, except the milk. I’m sensitive to dairy so can’t take it.
It’s good to know about the potatoes. I always thought even boiled potatoes were too high in carbs. My hubby will be glad to hear that, lol.
And I so agree with a calorie counter. Since I’ve been using one, it’s helped to keep my calorie intake in check.
Sometimes I get lazy and quit using it, then see the scale go up a bit. It’s amazing how well they work for me.
    Thanks again,
    Suzanne
